Lillian Delano Warmack Davenport was born September 5, 1925 in Clopton, AL. She attended the Henry County School System. She married Professor Newman Stanley Davenport Sr. and to this union five children were born: Stanley Jr., Carolyn, Diann, Renay, and Janet. Affectionally known as Mrs. Lillian, she was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. She believed in education and ensured that all five of her children became college graduates and later school teachers. During her lifetime, Mrs. Lillian operated a neighborhood beauty shop in her home and prepared meals for the community. She was well liked in the neighborhood and had many friends throughout Henry Count. Mrs. Lillian was a faithful member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Headland, AL. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, President of the Deaconess Board, Senior Choir Member, Children's Choir Director, Fellowship Club President, Missionary Society Member, President of the Matron's Society, President of the S>E> Alabama Baptist Association, and Women's Convention and served on numerous other committees. She was also a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and Member of Levi. Mrs. Lillian never met a stranger because, she said everyone was her cousin!
